Feng-Shui is a Chinese science that is about tapping the energies of nature and living in harmony with nature's existing laws so as to maximize one's potential with minimum obstacles and maximum correct-direction 'free-lifts' (going with the flow) to success.
It started a few thousand years ago in China where only the members of the royal family could apply the theories so that the could consolidate their positions. In the last 100 years, more and more people started applying the theories and benefiting from this science, as the previously kept secrets were revealed and spread to the laymen.
The theories are widely applied all over the world even in big multi-national corporations especially in the eastern part of the world where tycoons have been known to spend big amounts just to improve the Feng Shui which they feel is necessary in order to succeed.
There are many schools of Feng-Shui with different interpretations of the science (like the religion Christianity).
One of the more widely practised Feng-Shui these days is the Xuan kong Flying Stars Feng Shui which itself is a derivation from the San Yuan Feng Shui which is the more time-oriented Feng-Shui of the two known schools of Classical Feng-Shui. The other classical Feng-Shui, San He Feng-Shui, places more emphasis on the environmental features such as mountains, terrains and water.
